Introduce concepts and principles required to become proficient in a high-level computer programming language. Students are expected to become proficient at using Fortran 77/90/95 to solve computational problems encountered in the radiological sciences, including the numerical evaluation of derivatives, linear algebra, interpolation and extrapolation, integration of functions, random numbers generation, and integration of ordinary differential equations. Upon completion of this course, students should:
- Understand program organization and control structures and file input/output
- Become proficient at writing, compiling and debugging Fortran computer codes
